Educational Assessments - Grades K–8 | Math, Reading, and Writing

• Get to know your child as a learner. I use a variety of formal and informal assessments to develop a deep understanding of your child’s unique strengths, needs, and way of learning.
  

• Look beyond the surface. I work to understand what may be contributing to your child’s academic struggles and to identify the specific skills, knowledge, or processes that may be getting in the way of progress.
  

• Understand how your child thinks. I look at how your child approaches problems, explains their reasoning, and makes sense of new concepts—not just whether they arrive at the correct answer. This helps me identify gaps in understanding, recognize strengths, and determine how best to support their learning.

Educational Therapy and Consulting

• Provide individualized, research-based instruction. I use assessment results to tailor instruction to your child’s specific needs, building on their strengths and addressing areas of difficulty.

• Adapt as your child grows. I adjust the pace and approach of instruction as needed, slowing down to strengthen foundational skills, moving ahead when your child is ready, or changing course when a different approach would be more effective.

• Keep you informed. I communicate regularly with you about your child’s goals, progress, and ongoing needs.

Homeschool and IEP Support

• Provide support to help families navigate educational decisions, develop appropriate learning plans, and advocate for their children’s academic needs.
